1932: Death of Eurosia Fabris, known as Mamma Rosa, an Italian Roman Catholic regarded as a model of a strong woman of faith in the Christian family.

1920: The Czech Roman Catholic priest Karel Farsky (1880-1927) founded the Czechoslovak Hussite Church and became its first Patriarch.

1601: Birth of the Spanish Jesuit writer Baltasar Gracián y Morales (died 1658).

1560: Death of the Polish theologian and church reformer Johannes a Lasco (in Polish: Jan Laski).

1537: Establishment of the diocese of Cuzco, Peru, the first Catholic diocese in South America.
